The World Health Organization regrets the announcement that the United States of America intends to withdraw from the Organization.
WHO plays a crucial role in protecting the health and security of the world’s people, including Americans, by addressing the root causes of disease, building stronger health systems, and detecting, preventing and responding to health emergencies, including disease outbreaks, often in dangerous places where others cannot go. |

Opportunity: Junior Advisor - Violence Prevention for Peaceful and Inclusive Communities (VPPIC) Programme - Multi-Stakeholder Collaboration
The position is embedded within the Violence Prevention for Peaceful and Inclusive Communities (VPPIC) Programme, a German technical cooperation initiative emphasizing on early intervention, particularly in early childhood development (ECD) and caregiving environments within the violence prevention sector. The programme seeks to foster a multi-stakeholder and systemic approach to enhance the structural conditions necessary for evidence-informed, gender-relevant early violence prevention interventions across South Africa. The position will be based at the GIZ offices in Hatfield, Pretoria. The willingness for business trips in the region is expected.

Resource: Building Safe Futures – solutions to end childhood sexual violence
This is a comprehensive evidence review highlighting what works to prevent and respond to childhood sexual violence in low- and middle-income countries. With input and endrosement from 24 organisations leading violence prevention across the globe and with the support of the Oak Foundation, the systematic review of evidence updates previous reviews and profiles effective ways to end childhood sexual violence. It screens and classifies dozens of interventions using the INSPIRE framework, and offers insights for program implementation and further research.

Call for Papers: Family violence prevention
BMC Public Health is calling for submissions to their Collection on family violence prevention. The Collection seeks to advance the understanding and prevention of family violence through evidence-based research, interventions, policies, and practices. BMC Public Health welcomes contributions from local, state, national, and global perspectives that explore the intricate dynamics of family violence and promote effective prevention and intervention strategies. Additionally, the evaluation and measurement of prevention programmes is welcomed.
The deadline for submissions is the 2nd of May 2025.
