Resource: guidelines on engaging with victims and survivors of childhood sexual violence
Each child has the right to grow up free from violence. The responsibility to uphold and respect this right as well as to protect children from all forms of violence is shared by all those who come into contact with the child. Together for Girls and the Brave Movement has welcomed the publication of “Nothing About Us Without Us” by the Council of Europe – a policy on engaging with victims and survivors of child sexual exploitation and sexual abuse.
The guidelines were designed by Brave Movement co-founder Professor S Caroline Taylor AM and Sophie Otiende, Chief Executive Officer of the Global Fund to End Modern Slavery and the founder of Azadi, a survivor-led initiative in Kenya, who are both survivor advocates for ending childhood sexual violence.
