Survey: The state of evidence on ending violence against women and girls (VAWG)

The Spotlight Initiative is reaching out to ask for your participation in a survey about your experiences and perspectives on current knowledge needs and research gaps in ending violence against women and girls.

Building on and learning from existing action research and participatorily developed research agendas, the information collected here will help Spotlight Initiative build an agenda that addresses existing gaps, and shapes the Initiative’s learning and research going forward to ensure it is relevant and responsive to the research and learning needs of those working to end violence against women and girls. Your responses will remain confidential and anonymized for analysis and responses to all self-identifying questions are optional.

This survey closes on the 12th of July, 2024.

You’re Invited! Research Inequalities of the Global South and Global North

In today's interconnected world, the collaboration between researchers from the Global South and Global North is more essential than ever. However, significant inequalities persist, impacting the efficacy and equity of these partnerships. This webinar, titled "Research Inequalities of the Global South and Global North," seeks to highlight these disparities and promote a dialogue on how to address them.

Join the Global Parenting Initiative as panelists reflect on their experiences with South-North research collaborations, highlighting the challenges they have encountered, the successes they have achieved, and their visions for the future. Key themes such as capacity building, funding sources, and equitable access to resources will be at the forefront of our discussion.

This webinar will take place on the 23rd of July.

Online Course: MeToo to WeTogether: Transforming Gender Injustice into Beloved Community

Bioneers Learning course  “MeToo to WeTogether: Transforming Gender Injustice into Beloved Community,” provides a professionally facilitated forum for taking this next step. “In our work, we create a platform for everyone to speak truth to what their experience is,” said Gender Equity and Reconciliation International (GERI) Co-Founder Cynthia Brix. “This enables not only women but also men to come forward, and for people of all gender identities and expressions to come forward—all speaking to their experience of pain and suffering around gender relationships and sexuality.”

This seven-week online course, facilitated by GERI trainers, applies principles of Truth and Reconciliation to gender and sexual injustice. The course provides attendees a safe forum to come together and speak their truth, experience the power of collective healing, and transform dysfunctional gender conditioning into beloved communities. Together, women, men, and people of all genders and sexual orientations can confront sensitive and often taboo issues relating to gender and sexuality to reach a place of newfound respect and trust.

This course will take place online from the 3rd of August.
