Opportunity: Project Manager for Violence Against Children Ministerial Meeting

 

Together for Girls (TfG), in partnership with Brave, is seeking a Project Manager to spearhead their preparation and participation in the Violence Against Children (VAC) Global Ministerial Summit, set to take place in Colombia on November 7-8, 2024. 

This pivotal role demands an adept leader capable of managing the full spectrum of activities leading up to, during, and following the event, ensuring TfG and Brave's objectives are met with significant impact.

Save the Date: Ending the cycle of Violence: Prohibiting and Eliminating Corporal Punishment of Children in the Juvenile Justice System

Join #EndCorporalPunishment and delve into the latest research, assess progress, and share insights from diverse country experiences. This side event will be addressing the urgent need of abolishing corporal punishment in child (juvenile) justice systems globally. Join in on the 17th of May, 2024.

Resource: Ilifa’s Story of Change

Ilifia Labantwana is proud to present the Reviewing Our Work package of documents, consisting of the  Ilifa Labantwana System Change Case Study and our  Story of Change, which document Ilifa's systems change journey over the years. We are particularly proud of the relationships we have nurtured along the way - a special word of gratitude to the Ilifa team, Board, and our governmental and non-governmental partners who have all contributed in different ways to our story.

Ilifa will in the coming months convene engagements to share and discuss their journey of systems change, please follow their social media platforms for details. In the meantime, your feedback and comments are welcome.

 

Announcement: SVRI Forum 2024 Wellness Team


The SVRI is excited to introduce our wellness team for the 2024 SVRI Forum; Robin Julies, Director of African Population Behavioural Institute, and Tracey Kotzen, CEO of the Mental Wellness Initiative, who will be providing space and opportunity for Forum delegates to access self-care and a way to connect to others in care. A range of services will be unveiled in the coming months which will include support groups, mindfulness and relaxation sessions, quiet zones, a gratitude wall, a time outroom and more. All soon to be available to book via the Forum app.

 

Opportunity: The Cameron Schrier Equality Fellowship Programme

 

The Southern Centre for Inequality Studies (SCIS) at Wits University is proud to announce the continuation of the Cameron Schrier Inequality Fellowship, a fellowship programme for activists from civil society, senior government officials, academics, and business leaders from across the global South. The goal of the fellowship is to develop and advance links between academia, activism, and policymakers across the global South, deepening new areas of research and writing on inequality. This fellowship will be for six months, and must be based at the SCIS, in Johannesburg, South Africa. SCIS will provide resources, space and time to reflect on their work, to engage with the SCIS academic community, and to produce a publication relating to their area of focus.
