Survey: The SVRI Global Members' Survey 2024
The Sexual Violence Research Initiative is entering a critical phase of growth and has therefore engaged Kore Global to facilitate the co-creation process for its next five-year strategic plan. As part of this process, we are seeking input from the SVRI’s members, including grantees, forum participants and bursary recipients, SVRI Update/listserv members, and forum partners, to reflect on the SVRI’s impact over the last four years, and to provide suggestions for the SVRI’s future direction.
Your participation in this survey is entirely voluntary. Your responses will be anonymous unless you choose to disclose your email address at the end of the survey. You may close the survey at any time, and will not experience any negative consequences from your decision not to participate. This survey closes on Wednesday 24 April 2024.

Resource: Budget 2024 is a setback for children’s rights:
Despite the President’s signaling of Early Childhood Development as a key priority in his State of the Nation Address, the 2024 budget failed to allocate the funds necessary to fulfil all children’s rights to quality ECD services – compromising their lifelong prospects and the future prosperity of South Africa as a whole.
In iLifa Labantwana’s new ECD Budget Review we unpack the 2024 Budget from an early childhood perspective, focusing on funding for ECD programmes, early nutrition, and the Child Support Grant.

Reflections: Tales of Turning shares on Fatherhood as a Role
Last month, two members of the Tales of Turning team were privileged enough to attend the SAPPIN "Fatherhood As a Role" Workshop. It was a great space to be part of where attendees shared vulnerably, had courageous conversations and looked at solutions in the sector.
Tales of Turning believes in the power of storytelling for healing. As part of their work they use social media to amplify community knowledge and share positive stories. Tales of Turning has created social media designs that were inspired by the stories shared at the workshop, and they hope these stories can inspire others too.
If you find these designs useful, Tales of Turning welcomes you to share them on your socials.

Opportunity: How to provide initial support to survivors of gender-based violence (GBV)
This e-learning course, provided by UNICEF-Agora, aims to strengthen the skills of humanitarian workers who are not specialized on gender-based violence (GBV) responses, in providing initial support to survivors of GBV, with a focus on migrant and refugee survivors and displaced people with diverse backgrounds. The course also offers humanitarian workers with useful information on available GBV specialised services.
The e-learning course was developed based on the inter-agency pocket guide “How to support survivors of GBV when a GBV actor is not available in your area”.
This course is continuously open.
