You’re Invited! Enhancing disability inclusivity in parenting initiatives
Every child deserves to grow up in a loving and supportive family environment, including children with disabilities. However, caring for a child with a disability presents unique challenges, such as the complexities of meeting their diverse needs and navigating intricate parent-child interactions influenced by the disability's characteristics. Moreover, parents often face heightened levels of stress and social marginalisation, especially in low-resource settings where access to disability-related support services is scarce. These challenges can hinder positive parenting.
In this webinar, GPI will introduce their approach to supporting local teams within the Global Parenting Initiative in mainstreaming disability through a twin-track method. They will begin with an overview of disability and its impact on families, followed by an exploration of the theoretical backgrounds and evidence behind parenting interventions for children with disabilities.
Join the Global Parenting Initiative on the 5th of March 2024 |

The GBVF Response Fund is extending an invitation to eligible community based organisations actively involved in the implementation of initiatives that are aligned to the GBVF NSP. The current request for proposals encourages a broad spectrum of CBOs to engage in the ongoing efforts to combat GBVF in alignment with the NSP.
Where CBOs were previously funded, the Fund will determine eligibility for proposals submitted based on RFP1 performance. Similarly, funding for subsequent year(s) will be conditional based on satisfactory performance of the CBOs during the first year of implementation. The metrics to assess performance will be agreed upon by the Fund, Grant Management Partners and CBOs before disbursements of the grant can be made.
Applications close the 9th of March 2024.

Resource: Violence Prevention Forum Meeting Report
The objective of the violence prevention forum is to enable the best use of knowledge and evidence to prevent violence. Over the past 16 meetings of the Violence Prevention Forum, participants have grappled with many aspects of violence prevention: what it is, what a violence prevention intervention would look like, what the barriers are to effective violence prevention, and what the policy environment holds to support this work. Ironically, however, the Forum had not looked deeply at what violence is. Nor had we explored our role in the violence in our homes, workplaces and communities.
Through the application of the Alternatives to Violence Project methodology, the 17th meeting of the VPF did just that, because if we truly understand the nature and forms of violence, we will be better equipped to also understand and know what it takes to prevent violence |

Resource: Disrupting Harm Report
Disrupting Harm started in early 2019, when Safe Online invested $7 million to develop a ground-breaking and innovative research project to better understand how digital technology facilitates the sexual exploitation and abuse of children.
The findings from the first phase of Disrupting Harm, focusing on 13 countries in Southern and Eastern Africa and Southeast Asia, are out and provide important insights on digital harms, the gaps in existing systems at the country level and highlight key recommendations for governments and other stakeholders on tackling online child sexual abuse and exploitation . |
