You’re invited to join the Oxford Inside Out team and a panel of experts from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons in Nigeria, and Karachi Relief Trust in Pakistan to explore opportunities, challenges, technicalities, and recommendations for collaborating with policymakers and affected communities to support families and vulnerable children in crisis. This event takes place on the 21st of September, 2023.

Opportunity: Wellbeing, Self and Collective Care Consultancy to support the SVRI Forum 2024
The SVRI Forum is the world’s key research conference on violence against women and other forms of violence driven by gender inequality in low and middle-income countries. The SVRI Forum provides a global space where delegates build knowledge, expand their network, create collaborations, and share knowledge with key decision-makers in the field of violence against women. The purpose of the consultancy is to develop and implement a Wellbeing, Self and Collective Care Strategy to ensure the SVRI Forum 2024 in South Africa is trauma informed. Preference will be given to a team living and working in Cape Town, South Africa but global applications will be considered. The team must be fluent in English. Knowledge of issues related to weaving care, kindness and well-being into an international conference is desirable. Applications close on 22 September 2023.

This event aims to unite international restorative justice initiatives and introduce students from Stellenbosch University in Cape Town, South Africa & graduate prison officers from England & Wales to the world of Restorative Justice (RJ). Call for Comment on Discussion Paper on Domestic Violence: The Criminal Law Response
The South African Law Reform Commission (the Commission) has approved the
Discussion
Paper on Domestic Violence: the Criminal Law Response for publication. The discussion paper is preceded by an issue paper. The focus of this investigation is on an aspect which has not formed part of the recent review of the legal response to gender-based violence, namely the need for a specific domestic violence offence or offences and the related criminal law response. Closing date for comment is the 30th of October 2023.

Policy: CDC Violence Prevention Evidence Project Review
With increasing emphasis being placed on the importance of evidence in guiding prevention efforts, defining what constitutes “evidence” is more important than ever. While the importance of evidence is recognized by researchers, practitioners, and decision makers,1 there is debate about what constitutes evidence.
The Evidence Project (a project of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Division of Violence Prevention) proposes a comprehensive framework for understanding evidence and evidence-based decision making that includes three types of evidence. |

The South African Parenting Programme Implementers network (SAPPIN) will be hosting its second Families Indaba! This year's Indaba follows on the success of the inaugural Indaba in 2022, which had foregrounded the importance of the family and family support as the center for sustainable change in this country. The Indaba aims to draw attention to the collaboration and innovation of the network as a whole. SAPPIN looks forward to seeing you there!
